The Mersey Forest

The Mersey Forest is the largest of the community forests in the UK. Their website contained a huge amount of information which needed to be easily navigated, and also asthetically appealing.

The challenge we faced in the development of this website was organising a large amount of information into a navigational structure which would make sense to the target audience and enable people to quickly find the information they were looking for. We also had to take into account that the visitor profile was wide ranging (educational, environmental, social, recreational, and business) and that a Forest is a dynamic living community so we needed a design which was flexible and could easily accomodate new information without major expense of re-design.

There were updates each month in the form of newsletters, press releases, events and announcements. Much of this was automated using CGI scripting and a database to ensure a fast response.
