We are in the middle of that global event, the Olympic Games. Do you find yourself glued to the TV through the night, soaking up the details of every event, or does it send a shudder through you and remind you of the trauma of the games lessons at school. Either way, I hope this newsletter will be a welcome relief, although even here you can't quite escape from the Olympics.

Tough on play, tough on the causes of play
A short-term government website called "Build your PlaySpace" designed to get children involved with a consultation on play cost £50,000 plus VAT to build but attracted just 9,286 visitors.
What price history?
Bletchley Park, the home of the World War II code breakers, needs in excess of a million pounds to fix its roof and decaying wooden huts. Should we, as a nation, be spending money to preserve this historic site?
No honour among thieves
We hear plenty of stories about crooks scamming us and stealing our credit card details, but it also seems the crooks are not averse to stealing from each other.
Knowledge is cool, but apparently spelling is not
Search giant Google is promoting its alternative to Wikipedia, whilst some ex-Google employees have launched their own alternative search engine.
Some sense in names, at last
We live in an age when many parents want to give their kids unusual and quirky names, but one New Zealand judge said enough was enough for one poor girl.
More trouble with names
TV and radio used to bleep out the odd colourful phrase so as not to offend the more fragile listener. When websites try to do the same and let a computer make the decisions it is asking for trouble.
